**About Us** Tj Blaze aka Tjoni Johansen
After over ten years of theatrical involvement mainly behind the scenes, Tjoni took to the stage five years ago after falling in love with the art of twirling fire. She'd been warned as a child about playing with matches, so she initially set fire to both ends of a broomstick instead…(Kids don't try this at home…or if you do, um, give it to someone else to hold / blame...) Since that momentous occasion, and the fiery obsession that sprouted from it, Tjoni has performed with several groups and as a soloist, at various parties, functions, festivals, a circus troupe and a fashion parade, in Melbourne, Adelaide and the Gold Coast. Presently Tjoni's focus is on combining twirling with various dance styles, especially African and belly dancing, and on exploring elements of movement and art as a tool for healing, self empowerment and spiritual growth. She also continues to nurture and be nurtured by her business of nine years as a costume designer and creator.

Mistress Tinsel aka Antoinette Abbott Toni has been performing in one form or another her entire life. With twelve years of gymnastics behind her and many years of Jazz, Classical, Modern ballet and theatre training, she has always loved fire and discovered the art of fire dancing at an early age. She spins single and double staff, poi, foxtail, fire ropes and fire hoola hoops, and has performed with many an exotic fire toy including fire fans, gloves, fingers, skipping rope, wings, parasol, eating torches and geometric shapes. With a background in theatre and dance her performance is a fusion of many different styles, most recently including Latin and burlesque.

Over the past ten years Antoinette has performed with many fire and dance troupes and led workshops in the creative and performing arts throughout Australia and Internationally. She has also been involved in all aspects of performance production including costume making and design, jewellery, choreography, make-up and hair design.

Past Performances Eccentrix artists have an extensive performance history including shows at; Crown Casino, Docklands, Grand Hyatt, Food Wine and Roses Festival, Park Hyatt, Ceres, Park Hyatt, Federation Square, Elwood Yacht Club, Transport, Oakley, Zinc, Winter Solstice Festival, Melt, 16 Ellis St, Rainbow Serpent, Vic Markets, Tempfest, 303, Noisebar, National Gallery Victoria, St Kilda Town Hall, Cirque Du Solei Premier opening party, Perisher Blue Resort, Make'A'Wish Celebrations, Crusty Demons World Tour, Woodford Folk Festival, Versace Piazzo, Treasury Casino, Centenary of Federation Celebrations, as well as various corporate and social functions, weddings, festivals, parties and community events in Australia and abroad.

SAFETY …is our number one priority, (aside from putting on a wonderful show!). We always have fire safety equipment on hand (fortunately we've never had to use it), and as professionals we take pride in our drug and alcohol free conduct. During choreographed shows we also employ a safety tech to ensure all runs smoothly and safely while we are performing. If your event is indoors, please check that it is legal to have fire in the venue before making a booking. If you are unsure please let us know.

CULTURAL NOTE We are sensitive to the needs of certain cultures and other groups so please feel free to let us know if some modesty is required regarding costuming, and we'll do our best to find someone who has some…

INSURANCE All fire performers are fully covered with public liability insurance up to 20 million dollars. Please note this is backup only and we do not promote the practise of burning things down, like, um, buildings….

RIDER Music: A cd player is required for shows requiring recorded music. If this cannot be arranged Eccentrix can hire a PA which will incur additional expense. For live drumming a tech rider will be provided on request.

Surface Choreographed shows require a flat sealed ground, or grass outside, or floorboards, concrete, or other non-flammable surface inside. Roving shows can be performed on any non-flammable surface.

Lighting Where lighting is available, ambient lighting is best, and definitely no spots! For stage shows a slightly blue light is the most effective as it enhances the red and gold from the flames.
